Minister for Education, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, said it was the sheer influence of politics in the education sector ruining the quality. Following the foundation laying programme, PM Oli handed over a cheque of Rs 50 million to the university, and honoured various persons and organization helping for the establishment of the university. PM inaugurated regional hospital building PM Oli also inaugurated a building constructed for the regional hospital at Surkhet. During the programme, the hospital development committee submitted a memorandum to the PM. The PM assured the committee that he was positive on its genuine demands. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government would not allow budget crunch for the projects of national development. PM Oli said this while laying a foundation stone for the building of the Mid-Western University here Tuesday. Also the Chancellor of the Mid-Western University, PM Oli the university should be developed as a model university garnering accolade from the country and abroad. On the occasion, the PM shared various efforts the government was making for the development of the region as blacktopping of the road linked to the university, developing Bheri-Babai diversion as the place for tourism, establishing airport, medical college and industries.
