The first recorded evidence of cricket being played in Hong Kong dates
back to 1841. Today, cricket is fully-fledged sport that is
professionally administered by the Hong Kong Cricket Association and
subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Competitions
are organised throughout the year for all age groups - from primary
school children to senior players. Mission: "To promote, expand and
develop the sport of cricket in Hong Kong, improving standards in all
sectors of the game (quality of play, facilities, administration,
coaching) and increasing the participants of all sectors of the local
community in cricket."
Michael Clarke, the former Australia captain, will attempt to make a comeback into cricket by featuring in the DTC Mobile Hong Kong T20 Blitz, an ambitious franchise based Twenty20 cricket tournament mooted by the Hong Kong Cricket Board.
